There are times when things can get overwhelming for teenagers that it can start to affect them in ways that you would not have expected. Between juggling schoolwork and other commitments, it can be easy to get caught up with things that stress soon becomes a part of their life. Encourage Your Teen to Be Active

Doing physical exercises is a great way to help both the body and mind relax and unwind. But they need to be done regularly for one to reap their benefits. So, encourage your teen to engage in physical activities even only for 30 minutes, at least three to four times a week.

Help your child find a routine that works for him or her. Or perhaps, decide together on a sport that your kid can enjoy and focus on. Also, assist your kid in setting personal goals so that he or she will be motivated and inspired to move and be more active.

Make Sure Your Teen Gets Enough Rest and Sleep

Suggest Deep Breathing Exercises

Deep breathing exercises are also a great way to help calm the nerves. Tell your teen to stop now and then and take a few deep breaths to relieve the pressure off his or her chest immediately.

Tell your kid to sit in a comfortable position with eyes closed. Then, imagine being in a place where he or she feels relaxed. Slowly try to take deep breaths in and out for at least 5 to 10 minutes until your kid feels comfortable.
